Nearsightedness

Nearsightedness, or difficulty seeing far away, is one of the most common conditions affecting our eyes. It affects people of all ages, and impacts our ability to perform our daily activities. There are many causes for nearsightedness, the most common is related to the length of the eye that prevents light from being focused exactly on the back of the eye.

Treatment options for nearsightedness commonly include glasses, contact lenses, and surgery.

Candidates for the Implantable Contact Lens

Implantable contact lenses are custom-fit lenses that are surgically placed inside the eye to correct nearsightedness and astigmatism. They may be appropriate for those aged 21-45 who might not otherwise be candidates for LASIK surgery. One added benefit of this procedure is that it is reversible.
